 Red Hot Quarter Horses is
dedicated to training Western Pleasure horses with the
ultimate goal of producing a soft, subtle, happy, healthy,
fit, well adjusted and trusting individual. We maintain a
clear understanding that each horse is an individual.
Finding and excelling each horse's strengths and patiently
working with weak areas is a prime factor in creating a
well-balanced relationship between horse and rider.
 We believe a horse should be treated with love and respect at all times.
A horse has to develop strength in order to have balance.
Its impossible to ask a horse to do such a high degree of
difficult framed up movement without strength. So we focus
on getting a horse strong before pursuing lift and balance.
Each horse is worked on a daily basis in a program
specifically designed for that horse and their ability.
We teach each horse all their body parts- head, neck, shoulders, back and
rear end, working them separately and together. Time in the
woods is time well spent on a horse. We teach our horses
trust and confidence outside of their normal environment.
They learn to cross water, go over logs and bravely go where
they have never been. We have access to 1000's of acres of
maintained equestrian riding trails along the shores of Lake
Martin.
We believe daily turn out time for each horse where they can socialize,
chew grass and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine is a
critical factor in keeping a horse in a training program
happy and healthy.
We accept a limited number of horses in training to ensure
that each horse has the necessary time to develop and
progress in this step by s tep program.
Red Hot Quarter Horses is located in Alexander City, Alabama
(2 hours
from Atlanta, 1 hour south of Birmingham). We sit on 30
acres of prime property in the heart of Lake Martin, the
largest inland lake in the southeast. We have an 18-stall
Barnmaster barn with fans, lights and a complete fly and
insect control system. A large out-door riding arena, hot
walker and round pen. The property is fenced and cross
fenced.
RATES:
- Monthly training fee $700 per month
- Mileage $.75 per mile.
- Day fees - $35 per day per horse
- Tack stall and hotel expense will be divided among the
customers
- Shoeing is extra and will be charged to customer
- Worming and vaccinations is extra and will be charged to
customer
- Any veterinary costs will be charged to customer
